Her first big musical break was opening for James Brown at 16 years old in 1976. His reply to her was "Is that you" girl you got soul",and she has been working ever since. She has been privileged to grace the stage with many famous people throughout the years and gives the Glory to God. She also is a professional voice teacher/vocal coach and teaches the Seth Riggs Technique.
She devoted much of her time in the early years to raising a son, Phillip John Maldonado. Phillip, being exposed to music all of his life, has followed his mothers' footsteps into the music business. Being an accomplished singer/songwriter in his own right and playing his own blend of southern rock/blues, he often performs on stage with his mother, and it is always a memorable experiece to hear them singing together.
Being HIV positive for 20 years hasn't slowed Sharonmarie down very much. These days a great deal of her time and energy is expended putting together and performing at benefits for children stricken with AIDS. For the last 15 years she has produced and performed at a benefit called Sharonmarie Fisher's "Send Down an Angel Christmas Benefit for Children with AIDS". In 1996 it was held on Sunday, December 8, at Jack's Sugar Shack in Hollywood, Ca. All proceeds went to Caring for Babies with AIDS. The 1997 show was held at the Reseda Country Club on December 14. Up to this year 2007 she has continued to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS through American Redcross and the Los Angeles Unified School District. She was awarded an award in 2005, 2006, 2007 as one of the best educational speakers for her life story. If you are interested in donating time, money, or goods to be raffled for the 1998 benefit, please email Sharonmarie or call her at (805) 523-9313
In November 1996, She performed at the "Caring For Babies with

Sharonmarie gives all the Glory To GOD and dedicates what time she has on this earth to her family and children with AIDS. When she sells her book or Television Story of The Week, she will give a percentage to her "Send Down An Angel" organization for the children. Looking for a publisher at this time is one of her projects.

Since August 1996, Sharonmarie has been on a coctail drug, which consist of one Protease Inhibitor called Crixivan and two antivirals called 3TC & Hivid. Her viral load (which means how much virus is in your blood stream) was up to 54,000 where 80,000 would be considered close to death. Her T4 Cells were down as low as 204 where 200 is considered Full Blown AIDS, but with this medicine her Viral Load has dropped less than 22 and her T4 Cells have gone up to 360. The virus is no longer detectable in her bloodstream.
She hopes to use this experience to give people
hope. Sharonmarie also speaks at high schools and Colleges for AIDS education.

Now, 11 years later, Sharonmarie's contemporary "Love Story" of the 90s takes you on her roller coaster ride of love, joy, sorrow, pain and hope while she survives the blows, as friends and family either support or alienate the couple. Sharonmarie and Dennis face the deadly plague, daily and together, with the grace of GOD. AIDS has subjected Sharonmarie to frequent bouts of spinal meningitis--(four times now) but Dennis is by her side each and every step of the way. Sharonmarie is also the first female to donate her body to science through the Jonas Salk Vaccine Study
